Working with a designer should feel clear, collaborative, and straightforward. Below are answers to some of the questions I’m asked most often about projects, pricing, payments, timelines, websites, and what to expect when working with Janine Senese Design.
Getting Started
Janine Senese Design provides creative services for small to medium-sized businesses, including branding and logo design, print and digital advertising, marketing materials, social media graphics, WordPress website design, website updates, and ongoing creative support.

The first step is a conversation. We’ll discuss your business, your goals, the scope of the project, timing, and any specific creative or technical needs.
Once the project scope has been established, I’ll provide an estimate or proposal outlining the anticipated work and associated costs.
Yes. Whenever possible, I provide an estimate based on the information available at the beginning of the project.
Because creative projects sometimes evolve, estimates are based on the original scope of work. Significant changes, additional revisions, added pages, new concepts, or requests outside the original scope may require additional time and will be billed accordingly.
I will always communicate with you if a project appears to be moving beyond the original estimate.
Pricing & Payments
Pricing varies depending on the scope, complexity, and requirements of each project. Whenever possible, I provide an estimate or project quote before work begins so you have a clear understanding of the anticipated investment.
Smaller projects, ongoing creative support, website updates, and work outside the original project scope may be billed hourly. The applicable hourly rate will always be communicated before work begins.
For most new projects, a 50% deposit is required before work begins.
The deposit reserves time in my schedule and allows the project to move into production.
For project-based work, the remaining balance is generally due upon completion and before final artwork, production files, website launch, file transfer, or other final deliverables are released.
Specific payment arrangements will always be outlined in your estimate or agreement.
Hourly, maintenance, consulting, and ongoing creative services may be invoiced as work is completed or on a recurring basis.
Invoices are due according to the payment terms shown on the invoice.
Invoices that are not paid by their stated due date are considered past due.
Past-due balances may be subject to a 1.5% monthly finance charge, as outlined in the applicable estimate, agreement, or invoice terms.
If an account becomes delinquent, Janine Senese Design also reserves the right to pause additional work until the outstanding balance has been brought current.
Generally, no.
If an account has a past-due balance, new work, revisions, website updates, production services, or other requested services may be placed on hold until the account is brought current.
This policy helps keep projects and scheduling fair for all clients.
Design Process & Revisions
The number of concepts and revisions depends on the project and will be outlined in your estimate whenever applicable.
Minor adjustments are a normal part of the creative process. Significant changes in direction, additional concepts, or revisions beyond the agreed-upon scope may result in additional billable time.
No problem—projects sometimes evolve.
If you request work that falls outside the original project scope, I’ll let you know before moving forward whenever possible. Additional work will be billed at the current hourly rate or quoted separately depending on the request.
Timely feedback and materials help keep a project on schedule.
If a project is significantly delayed because content, photography, approvals, feedback, or other required materials have not been provided, the original completion timeline may need to be adjusted.
Projects that remain inactive for an extended period may also need to be rescheduled based on current availability.
Final Files & Ownership
Final approved files are released once the applicable project balance has been paid in full.
Depending on the project, this may include print-ready files, digital graphics, logo files, or other agreed-upon deliverables.
Editable or native working files are not automatically included with every project.
If you require source files such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or InDesign files, please discuss this with me at the beginning of the project so the appropriate deliverables can be included in the estimate.
Rights to approved final creative work are transferred or licensed according to the terms of your project agreement once the project has been paid in full.
Unused concepts, preliminary designs, working files, and design directions that were not selected generally remain the property of Janine Senese Design unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.
Website Design & WordPress
Yes. I design and build WordPress websites for businesses that need a professional, customized online presence.
Projects can include new websites, redesigns, landing pages, website updates, content organization, and ongoing WordPress support.
Whenever possible, I build websites so routine content can be managed without having to redesign the page.
During the planning process, we can discuss which areas you would like to be able to update yourself and which areas you would prefer Janine Senese Design to maintain.
Website hosting, domain registration, premium plugins, third-party software, subscriptions, stock photography, and other outside services are typically separate from design fees unless specifically included in your estimate.
Any anticipated third-party costs will be discussed as part of the project whenever possible.
Yes. I provide ongoing WordPress updates, content changes, troubleshooting, and design support for clients who would prefer not to manage those items themselves.
Ongoing website services are billed separately based on the work requested or the maintenance arrangement established for your business.
Final payment is generally required before a completed website is launched, transferred, or released.
This ensures that the project is fully completed on both sides before ownership and access to the finished work are transferred.

While Janine Senese Design is based in Southern New Jersey, I work with clients both locally and remotely. Meetings can be held by phone or Zoom, making it easy to collaborate regardless of location.
Yes. Many clients work with me on an ongoing basis for advertising, social media graphics, website updates, marketing materials, event promotions, and other creative needs throughout the year.
